CTA union members planned to walk out in a one-day “job action” beginning midnight Monday, crippling the CTA operations for 24 hours in the city and suburbs. The city would be chaotic with no mass transportation and thousands would be stranded. The unions think this action will help get funding from the General Assembly in Illinois.
This morning the CTA unions say they will not walk out Monday at the request of Pastors’ United for Change.
This issue is a seesaw of emotions and walkout plans. I will keep you
updated.
