Breaking News: Nailah Franklin suspect arrested



Reginald Potts has been arrested in the murder of Nailah Franklin Chicago Police announced today.

Nailah Franklin, 28 went missing in late September and more than a week later her body was found in a wooded area in Calumet City. Reginald Potts, 31 was questioned in the beginning but not arrested related to Franklin’s murder but on other charges.

Potts was arrested due to witnesses not confirming Potts' alibi for where he was the day in September that Franklin was killed. FBI agents pulled the cell phone records of both Franklin and Potts, and were able to determine through a high-tech analysis that they were in the same geographic area the time of her murder, authorities said. It is believed he acted alone.

Potts gained attention by repeatedly giving public statements about his innocence as well as speaking to the Chicago Sun Times. Also he was believed to be responsible of the release of private emails between him and Franklin about their strained relationship.
