Evergreen in 1985
Anyone familiar with the south side/Beverly mall, Evergreen Plaza knows it has struggled to maintain customers and appeal to the public. I haven’t shopped or visited the mall in years and I hardly hear
anyone else say they shop there. I do know that there are a lot of black owned businesses that generate a lot of business.
The owners of the mall are now looking for financial partners or considering selling the property for $70 million. The goal is to make the mall into an open-air center filled with national tenants (Macys,
Sears, etc).
